Yes, you may be eligible if you completed your nursing qualification in New Zealand and meet the current visa and registration requirements. 
 
Please note that if you require visa sponsorship, some employers may find it more difficult to progress your application through their recruitment process.

Only once. Once you have registered, your details will remain in the system, so there is no need to do it again.

Yes. You can update your employer preferences before your details are shared with a provider. We will let you know before your details are shared. 

Yes. Please contact the PC Connect team if you would like to update the order of your preferences. 

PC Connect collects expressions of interest from graduate nurses and providers throughout the year. 

With your permission, your details will be shared with providers based on your preferences. Providers will then guide you through their recruitment process. Once you are employed, you will be enrolled in the Supported First Year of Practice (SFYP) transition to practice.

Yes. Once you have been introduced to a provider it's up to you to continue through their recruitment process and ultimately decide to accept any offer of employment.  

Please contact the PC Connect team, and they will remove your details from the system. We encourage you to complete your registration when you have completed, or are close to completing, your studies. 

Yes. Your registration with PC Connect doesn’t get in the way of your ACE application.   

Supported First Year of Practice (SFYP) provides graduate registered nurses with support in their first year, including support from a preceptor, to help them transition confidently into professional nursing practice. 

SFYP: 

• Provides flexible, year-round education and professional support for graduate registered nurses working in primary and community healthcare or HealthNZ setting. 

• Is based on an internationally recognised research model for transitioning graduate nurses into practice. 

• Can be completed either full-time or part-time. 

• Helps graduate registered nurses build confidence and develop the skills needed for safe and effective professional practice. 

• Offers educational opportunities and preceptorship that adapts to the changing needs of graduate nurses throughout their first year of practice.
